Music to My Ears

The thing that irritates me most about parenthood lately is the constant sweeping up. Cakes refuses to use a highchair anymore, so every time she eats it’s a disaster. It’s so monotonous cleaning up these messes six times a day.

(We just finished doing Peter Pan in one of my classes—the Darlings have a dog they’ve trained to be a nanny, named Nana. I wish I had a Nana around here.)

So, it was music to my ears this morning when Cakes grabbed a broom after breakfast and started singing a new song:

Clean up, clean up,
La la la.
Clean up, clean up,
Buddy says so.

LOL. Maybe Cakes can be her own nanny. ;)

The thing I hate the most about this house is the brand-new carpeting in the dining room. Carpeting + dining rooms + children do not mix.

I wish the cleaning part would accompany the song. My girls are too busy singing and dancing.

My dogs do the floor sweep. Everything we eat has dog hair in it, but at least there is no food on the floor!

Clean up sucks! Anymore I leave the mess in the dining room until after dinner and do it once a day. Unless it's a liquid mess. Crumbs can wait.

I love the clean-up song.

I have the Retriever SweepUp 2.0 - slightly hairy, requires regular feedings and waterings and occasional maintenance, but is low efficiency otherwise. The mess is gone before it hits the ground.

Let's hope this is the start of great cleaning to come. I just bought Graham a little broom and dust pan, hoping to train him early. So far it's no go.

Can I borrow her? I've some sawdust in my kitchen that requires sweeping and I could use the help...

That's funny!

My daughter loves our dustbuster. She goes crazy over picking things up with that. Even the dog.

exact same thing going on around here.
only lulu just holds the dust pan and dumps it back on the floor if I don't catch her in time.

What they don't tell you in Peter Pan is that somebody had to clean up after the dog. ;)
