Cakes Recommends: Pocoyo Discovers Shapes
Cakes and I have just discovered the Pocoyo books. Right now she’s loving Pocoyo Discovers Shapes. Though I can’t wait to read her Coleridge, right now she’s more interested in board books with few words and lots of colourful graphics. Pocoyo is just her speed. The illustrations are sweet and there are lots of recognizable objects for her to point out and identify proudly, like dog, ball, and blocks.
There are quite a few titles in the series, such as Pocoyo Discovers First Words, Pocoyo Can Count, and Pocoyo Discovers Colours.
Cakes approves. Ah well, there is plenty of time for poetry I suppose.

Little Guy is still into board books too so I'll have to check these out. Thanks for the recommendation!
Haven't moved to the books yet but The Boy loves the cartoon. Treehouse plays it all the time. It is also The Husband's favourite.
Cakes baby...it's probably better than 'The Girls'.
Ask your Mommy pretty please for me to recommend a good read would ya? Would I like Life of PI?
Crazymumma: I loved Life of Pi! Highly recommended!
i'm sorry, but i can't recommend this one; the subtitle is totally redundant and should really be written in the possessive third person. i can only imagine what is on the inside.
;p
Penelope: Luckily, Cakes is not a grammar nazi. ;)
You could read her Blake's Songs of Innocence? They're not really innocent but Cakes wouldn't know it.... The pics are awesome, too.... Love Blake....
It's all about the bright colours!
Strawberry has way too many shapes, colours and counting board books. I have a slight addiction.
Pocoyo would make a good doll. I just want to squeeze him.
Thanks for asking her Cakes!
Ah, one doesn't preclude the other! Pick your moods and applications and use whatever you want. I still love board books, but also read pic books and even beginning readers like Frog and Toad now.
Pocoyo, the cartoon, is also the favourite of my husband.
I've been reading ee cummings to WB since she was born - he has a sort of childish lyricism and sense of absurdity that seems appropriate to her world.
