Everything Ends
We finally finished the last season of Six Feet Under (I know, we are horribly behind the times). I’m speechless. Well, almost. It was an excellent series (with a few bumps along the way), but the last season was amazing. The finale was the best thing I’ve ever seen on television – seriously (yes, I’m including the final episode of MASH). The image of Nate falling behind in Claire’s rear-view mirror was stunning and the montage that followed blew me away – what a brilliant way to end the series. I was too choked up to speak for several minutes when it ended (and the same thing happened the next night when we watched that scene again).
I love how the show confronted death bravely and realistically and reminded us how important it is to live in the moment. The acting, writing and directing were incredible. If we ever have a son, we’re naming him Nate (and a daughter? Maya, of course).
Farewell, Six Feet Under. I will miss you. You’ll live on in my memories (and in the box set I’m asking for Christmas next year).
Any other Six Feet Under fans out there? What did you think of the finale?

i watched all the way along on the movie network, and OHMYFUCKINGGOD - isn't it so the best show ever? i recently watched the last episode again, and again i cried and was speechless. but i think the david abduction episode was like the best best. or maybe the one when we find out what happened to lisa. or maybe the one when brenda writes porn. or maybe the one when billy goes ape (again). or maybe the one when claire becomes a dyke. or maybe the one when ruth's friend dies and they all sing 'calling all angels' over her body. anyway, yep, best show eva.

Loved every minute of the show. My husband and i cried for about 45 minutes after the end of the last show and still haven't been able to watch it since. I don't think there was any other way for them to end the series, the whole thing was brilliant.
Fell in love with the song (and later, all of Sia's music) that was playing during the montage.
Pregnant with a boy right now and Nate has been a contender for his name, so yeah, we loved the show too.

As with all television these days, I'm late to join the party. I'm adding all five seasons to my must see DVD list.
(My old television addicted personality would never have let this happen.)
I've watched many (but not all) of the searsons and agree it was a fantastic show. Now I'm gonna have to watch the finale - thank you!
You should check out Dexter if you liked this. One of the brothers is Dex and the show has the same kind of feel, though different approach to death.;-)
Love the name Nate, and it is a contender if we have another boy someday. Wish it wasn't so popular, though. Sigh.
I was a scattershot watcher of 6 feet. One thing I would like to do is rentt eh entire series over the next few months. It was brilliant...
I was hit and miss on the show; what I did see of it I saw in the UK and liked. If the finale was where they were all 'aged', I liked it!
I watched every single episode. I loved that show like no other.
I did like the finale, but there were some other episodes that completely rocked my world. The one were Claire got a visit from her dead boyfriend and father in her dream sequence? Out of this world.
what it's over??
I still haven't watched it in it's entirety.
will put it on the to do list.
I love the opening sequence though.
beautiful imagery.
ohhh. Sounds like a series I HAVE to watch! Especially if it had that kind of effect on YOU!
Haven't watched this one, but I love DVD box sets--the best invention ever. Currently, dh and I are hooked on Veronica Mars. Why is high school so fascinating?
Six Feet Under is my favourite television show of all time, beating out Twin Peaks, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!
I loved the entire series. Every single second of it. I have a big poster of Nate, my Man Love, in my laundry room (so when I'm folding my husband's boxers I can gaze into Nate's all-knowing eyes). And believe you me, I tried to get Dave to name Oliver Nate for a looooooong time. A looooooong time.
My husband and I watched every single episode, and loved them all. But David's kidnapping and subsequent post-traumatic-stress freakouts? Brilliant. Ruth's get-togethers with her friends at the cabin (featuring Susie Bright as herself!)? Touching. And that closing montage BLEW OUR MINDS. So yeah, I would buy the DVDs and watch them all again if I had the money.
My husband I finished it sometime last summer (I think). We, too, were behind...but I absolutely loved loved loved it, and watching it on DVD was great except for the fact that we'd finish a whole season in a matter of days, then have to wait months for the next season to come out! now i catch reruns on bravo every now and then and i fall in love with it all over again. the best series EVER.
We also recently finished the series. Mostly we put it off because we knew that once we saw the last season, it would be over for good.
I bawled so freakin' much in the finale. Even though it was a tad cheesy -- the montage at the end. I agree with the Nate part, but they way Keith bites it seemed a bit farcical.
